Singapore's Cybersecurity Strategy 2026

In force since 13 October 2026Record checked against the official source on 29 October 2026 · Methodology

Date adopted

Summary

The strategy, launched on 13 October 2026 at Singapore International Cyber Week with a foreword by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, replaces the 2021 strategy and guides the national approach to cybersecurity over the next five years. It rests on four pillars: defending critical infrastructure, securing the wider cyberspace, strengthening capabilities for AI and quantum, and enhancing resilience through global partnerships; two enablers cover the industry and research ecosystem and the workforce. Measures include the CSA's National Cybersecurity Command Centre, a review of the Cybersecurity Act and of the code of practice for critical infrastructure, a national Protective Domain Name Service, minimum requirements for higher-risk IoT devices and the police Cyber Command against scams and cybercrime. The strategy also sets milestones for quantum-safe migration of critical infrastructure, to be completed by 2031, and introduces a professional accreditation framework for cybersecurity practitioners.

Key dates

  1. By end 2027 all home routers sold in Singapore must attain at least Level 2 of the Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme
  2. Critical information infrastructure owners factor quantum-safe considerations into the procurement and implementation of new systems
  3. Deadline to complete quantum-safe migration of critical information infrastructure systems

The quantum-safe migration milestones for critical infrastructure come from guidance the government has already issued to owners and are set out in the Pillar 3 chapter.
