Papua New Guinea National Cyber Security Strategy 2024-2030 The strategy, introduced by the Minister for ICT, follows the 2021 National Cyber Security Policy (NEC Decision No. 348/2021) and the creation of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) under the Digital Government Act 2022. Its vision is a safe, resilient and secure cyberspace that enables innovation and prosperity, ensures essential services and protects the country's sovereignty. The goals are a legal and regulatory framework (including on cybercrime, critical infrastructure and child online protection), resilience of critical infrastructure and government systems with the NCSC elevated to a national authority, detection and response capabilities and a skilled workforce, a cybersecurity culture, international partnerships and online safety. Implementation runs in three phases: foundational strengthening (2024-2025), scaling cyber maturity (2026-2028) and advancing global cybersecurity (2029-2030).
