Summary

This is the future international cybersecurity standard for the whole railway system, developed by IEC Technical Committee 9 from the European specification CLC/TS 50701 and the IEC 62443 series. It covers signalling, rolling stock, fixed installations and communications, with a cyber risk management process integrated into the railway system lifecycle and functional safety. It will be adopted in parallel as the European standard EN IEC 63452 and will take over from the CENELEC technical specification.

Notes
The draft was approved for registration as an FDIS in February 2026. According to IEC project data shown in the catalogues of national standards bodies (e.g. ISS, Serbia), the final text was registered for formal approval on 7 July 2026 and circulation for the final vote was scheduled for 29 September 2026; at the end of October 2026 the project was still at this stage. Publication, which the project team expected in August 2026, has therefore slipped: the date shown is an estimate to be checked on the IEC website. The link leads to the German national draft DIN EN IEC 63452:2026-07, based on the CDV, in the DIN catalogue.
